Nifty 24,636.00 +11.35 (+0.05%), range 24,604.15–24,677.05 — a 73-point day, the narrowest of the week, and a third consecutive close above 24,600, the line the morning note drew. The low never went below it. BankNifty 58,063.65 +323.70 (+0.56%), range 57,714.70–58,076.85 — banks led instead of funding the day, closing within 13 points of the high. India VIX 12.16 +0.10 (+0.83%). Sensex 78,954.76 +373.76 (+0.48%). Breadth (broad NSE, n=2,974, captured 15:47) says the flat index hid a weaker session underneath: names up 3%+ fell to 11.00% from 13.19% while names down 3%+ rose to 8.78% from 6.97%, and 10-DMA breadth dropped to 59.72% from 62.72%. The longer bases barely moved — 54.44% above the 20-DMA, 52.56% above the 50-DMA, 44.49% above the 200-SMA, and 43.01% above the 200-EMA, a third consecutive session below the 47% mark.
Options
11 Aug weekly, live chain — the put wall was rebuilt at 24,000: 93.78 lakh OI after +19.98 lakh added today, the single largest build on the board, and it retakes the top slot from the calls. The call wall holds at 25,000 (88.27 lakh, only +0.16 lakh added) — writers left the lid where they moved it yesterday and did nothing further with it. PCR (OI) 0.919 against 0.7218 at yesterday's close, a full session of put writing outpacing call writing; volume PCR 1.0074. Max pain 24,600, with spot closing 36 points above it. Gamma peak 24,600, ATM IV 11.25, ATM straddle 249.85 → move priced ±1.01%, band 24,386.15–24,885.85, 25-delta skew −0.56.
Flows
6 Aug provisional cash — FII −₹17.86 cr, DII +₹4,013.60 cr (NSE session dated 06-Aug-2026). The foreign number is not a sale so much as an absence: −₹18 cr on a full session is as close to flat as this series prints, after −₹943.42 cr yesterday. Domestic institutions bought the most in a single session this week, up from ₹2,883.17 cr.
Sectors
Reliance Industries was the top Nifty50 gainer at roughly +3.5% (₹1,325) as crude fell on hopes of a West Asia resolution, with PSU banks — SBI, ICICI Bank — Eternal, Bharat Electronics and Titan behind it. Eight of the NSE's 15 major sector gauges still closed lower, led by Realty −1.3%, with auto, metal, IT and energy also red; consumer durables and financial services ended marginally higher. Weakest Nifty50 names were Power Grid, Tata Steel, JSW Steel, TCS and Bajaj Auto — yesterday's metal leadership reversed outright.
Scans (EOD)
Session restored, full pack pulled — 76 rows across the five scans: stage2_breakout 17, minervini_vcp 21, pre_breakout_consolidation 15, breakout_retest 2, stage1_emerging 21. The row-set is identical to the pull already on disk, so no change at EOD — though that pull was taken at 20:39 this evening, not at the usual 14:35, because r12's scheduled run never fired today. The gate pass had not run at all today either; run now over 71 unique names — 59 survived, 12 culled, 0 no_data. Culls were turnover under the ₹5cr gate (EXCELINDUS, MAHASTEEL, VIDHIING, ACCENTMIC, STEELCAS, CLSEL, TNPL, DOLPHIN, MEDIASSIST), ASM surveillance (DEEPINDS I, AEGISLOG I, MAHASTEEL II) and one HMS 0/3 (AJMERA). Badges that cull nothing but change how a name must be read: 15 VERIFY FIRST unconfirmed circuit bands and 9 names inside the 3-session results blackout; no RSI ≥ 80 anywhere. stage2_breakout's themes regenerated today. Surviving the pass is an elimination result, not an approval — scan names are mechanical signals, not picks.
